Rakestraw in at WFNI, WYXB

Greg Rakestraw will take over as PD at WFNI and WYXB (what a strange combination), effective immediately.

Word is Rakestraw will also be a fill-in air talent for WFNI and WIBC.

Don't think so.

It's the only AC in the market. They have no direct AC competition, plus PPM is very friendly to this format, so they probably feel a lot of experience is not needed for the job.

Great point, Flip.

With A new PD at WYXB I wonder if it do what other AC's are doing which is going more current based with their music

AC hasn't had much current music for years. They are only playing about 10 currents or recurrents. They are 80, 90s, 70s, 00s, and 60s, in that order. They are the default pop "oldies" station since WKLU went away.

Greg's one of the good guys! He and I go back about 20 years to a summer honors program at Indiana State University where we did radio/tv/film when we are in high school. He's already doing a great job.
