WUNC may have been listed as part of
what was then North Carolina Public Television,
something like "E" in TV Guide. I'm sure it was
in the N&O, but it may take a second look to
find it.

Channels 17, 40, and 50 weren't yet on the
air, either.

I'm not that big on public television, but for those who insist...

Small footnote: This was premiere day for "Las Vegas Gambit" and "Blockbusters".

Also, it looks like (unless there was another independent station whose listings were not shared), that the daytime edition of "Family Feud" was gone from this area..

Yep, daytime "Feud" was off WRAL. You had
to be in range of either WGHP/8 Greensboro/
Winston-Salem/High Point or WCTI/12 Greenville/
New Bern/ Washington to watch it.

It wouldn't be the last time ABC's noon show would
be pre-empted. After "Ryan's Hope" moved to noon,
WRAL carried it on delay at 11:30 AM, but when WTVD
became the ABC o&o they didn't carry it at all.
