Yes, that's right. From my buddy at their sister station, Clear Channel has opted not to renew Randall's contract to stay on as WGST's Program Director. WGST's ratings have tanked if you have not seen them lately.

I thought I heard Handel's Messiah when I stepped outside this morning. 
The next person they hire will probably be as bad as Bloomquist, so don't hold your breath. Even then, WGST's goods are so damaged they never will ever get ahead of WSB-AM for various reasons (including signal).

This depends on how vast Neil's knowledge of Polka music is.
What does being PD of today's WGST really entail? Except for mornings, the station is entirely syndicated on weekdays and has a variety of low-rated specialty shows on weekends.

As a long-time poster to this board and its previous incarnations there is one thing I learned. Never trust posts that are rumor-based when the poster starting the thread is a first-time poster. These posts tend to be more about revenge or disrupting people's lives.
Posts like these that are completely rumor-driven should be removed. It is one thing to say you disagree with Randall's performance, he should be fired or that Clear Channel does horrible job because those are opinion based observations. It is another thing to say he has benn let go when in fact he hasn't.
It is another thing to start a rumor someone has been fired or say a current on air person will leave their job one day and the next day re-unite with a former partner on another station in clear violation of their contract. It's fair to say I hope these guys get together again but it is not fair to spread an unsubstantiated rumor that one of them is planning on breaking their contract with no proof whatsoever.

to bad I was hoping he was gone.. don't like him.. nope not an employee not out for revenge not even in radio anymore.. but did meet randy and didn't care for him at all.. and hate seeing what a bad job he has done with gst. Maybe thats where they stick you when they "put you out to pasture" maybe randall was never or is never expected to turn gst around.. maybe they just stuck him there to ride out his contract.. who know.. he'll leave the building of death.. it is only a matter of time.. it happens to everyone that had/has a job with CC Atlanta.. just a matter of time.

This board is very similar to all of media today. Report all the rumors you can come up with, but when you get proof that the rumors are false.... bury it on page 5. They've done it to Palin, and poor Bloomquist was next... by the way a friend of a friend of mine heard from his friend that Rush Limbaugh was secretly a Democrat... no verification but let's get this started....
No one who knows Atlanta radio would be shocked to see this happen. WGST is where CC PD's go to die and I think Randall will ultimately be the latest casualty.
I think people sometimes like to be first to post something so they can say 'see I told you!'
