Randi Rhodes Quitting Nova M?

Until now the only acknowledgement of Randi's disappearance from the airwaves has been a statement on Nova M's website talking about technical reasons for Randi being off the air.
That note is gone and the "About Randi" page at http://www.novamradio.com/live/rhodes_about.php has been replaced with this note:

To all of Randi's listeners;

You are all correct - I have not had the option to disclose what has been happening between Randi and Nova M...

You see, it's in her contract that she has total control, but, after Wednesday night, I want you all to know that Nova M has done everything we can to get her back on the air.

All this is her choice; if she wants to tell you all what the issue is, then I hope she does, but I can't according to her contract rules.

But I can tell you this I have wanted her back on the air. She's an amazing talent and needs to be heard.

Thank you all for all of your support.

Randi now has to make her decisions as to what she must do with her career...

A pretty big shift in Nova M's tone, BUT the mystery contunues!
Randi's wesite has not been updated since wednesday 2/11/09.
And, having been inside Nova M at one point within the last year and a half, can anyone figure out why this doesn't surprise me?

So where would she go next? Dial Global? Citadel/ABCRN and Premiere don't seem to care for left wing talkers.

According to the Liberal Talk Radio blog, it sounds like she will just do a local show on WJNO in West Palm Beach, and will no longer be syndicated.

The question is, what will happen to that 3-6 PM time slot for the rest of her affiliates? Will they end up airing Air America's Doing Time with Ron Kuby? Will Nova M move Mike Malloy to Randi's former time slot?

Between this, and Thom Hartmann's move to Dial Global next month, I think that this is a huge shakeup for progressive talk radio.

Hard to imagine Dial Global won't add her to their now nearly full lineup of Progressive air talents. They may not call it a "network," but with Miller, Schultz, Hartmann, Press... and Rhodes(?)... who needs Air America?

I assume you mean Dennis Miller? He is Moderate to Conservative. He finally grew up. As for Randi Rhodes...so much drama and very little talent.

Actually, Stephanie Miller.

As soon-to-be Senator Al Franken likes to say, "Never assume...because you make an a-- out of Uma Thurman." ;D

Randi Rhodes official website is now offline, and the host who has been replacing her since her absence opened her show today with, "This is the Nancy Skinner Show on Nova M Radio", as opposed to "This is Nancy Skinner in for Randi Rhodes", which she had been opening the show with previously. Does not portend well for Randi. I sure wish someone would address what is going on. Her listeners deserve to know.

from www.http://www.therandirhodesshow.com/:

TO ALL:

NOVA M RADIO HAS NOT YET CORRECTED THE PROBLEM THAT HAS KEPT ME OFF THE AIR
DESPITE MY STRONG DESIRE AND READINESS TO BROADCAST MY SHOW. RESPECTING THE
EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONSHIP THAT HAS EXISTED BETWEEN NOVA M AND ME, AND
EXPECTING THE SOLUTION TO BE QUICKLY ACHIEVED, DETAILS OF THE TRIGGERING
EVENT WERE WITHHELD IN GOOD FAITH. BUT I CAN TELL YOU THIS MUCH: ANY
STATEMENT IMPLICATING ME AS BEING IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISRUPTION
IN THE RANDI RHODES SHOW IS PATENTLY FALSE. THIS ENTIRE SITUATION IS
SOLELY WITHIN THE CONTROL OF NOVA M.

IN LIGHT OF MOST RECENT DEVELOPMENTS, MY SHOW WILL BE SEEKING A NEW HOME.
I WOULD ASK FOR YOUR CONTINUED PATIENCE AND INDULGENCE IN RESPECTING MY
RIGHTS DURING THIS TIME. YOUR UNWAVERING SUPPORT IS CHERISHED. THANK YOU.

RANDI RHODES

This sounds kind of like what happened to Laura Ingraham at Talk Radio Network.

Those dufouses at that network had some kind of contract spat with her, and kept her off the air for a considerable time.
While fills-in held forth in her slot, the extended absence took its toll and many stations dropped her show for Glenn Beck's.

What is it with these talk radio networks anyway?
