Random Musings

Just some random musings about Connecticut radio.

1. A few weeks ago I caught former DRC-FM morning man John "Cadillac" Seville filling in on Country 92.5

2. Yesterday WFIF 1500 was off the air for several hours. Was this related to the storm?

3. I caught Mr. WTIC Tag Sale - Glenn Colligan on WJMJ 88.9 FM on Saturday afternoon. I went to their website and see he's WJMJ's regular 12PM-4PM Saturday Announcer. How long has he been doing the WJMJ gig?

4. Speaking of WJMJ, Bruce Stevens formerly of WTIC 1080 does the weekday morning shift of WJMJ. (I think this was mentioned in NERW a few months ago). And former DRC-FM Program Director (and overnight jock) Dave Nagel does a Saturday Morning shift at WJMJ.

5. Anyone know why Ed Renyolds was doing the sports report during Ray Dunaway's show on WTIC 1080 this morning? What happened to their regular sports guys - Scott Gray and Joe D? Ed normally does the news updates on the overnights.

6. Yesterday afternoon while parked in front of the abandoned Shaw's on Queen Street in Southington I was able to pick up WQHT 97.1 and WKTU 103.5 on my car radio. Of the 2 WQHT was coming in the clearest. They both were fading, but at times it was strong enough for WQHT to be in stereo. I can't normally pick up these stations. The storm must've had something to do with the reception.
