Since the board's been a little quiet lately...

98 is growing on me, but I wish the jocks would be a little tighter on the board.

On the other hand, I heard the Hollies and a couple of other great 70s tunes on 103 today. The A to Z thing isn't exactly original, but I like it. Good move for the spring. You guys over there deserve better numbers than you're getting.

Since I called the 79 classic country change, my next prediction is someone will do a 70's centered oldies format. Note that I didn't say they would do it right, just that someone would do it. If it is to have any chance of winning, it will have to be on a big signal with good building penetration. It COULD be a whatever-hybrid-70's type thing on 100, but probably someone else.

Isn't that what 98.1 switched FROM? If I had heard "Your Mama Don't Dance" one more time on 98 before they flipped, I would have found Kenny Loggins and brained him.

Yeah...sorta. My problem with The Cat was not what they played, but what they didn't play. There's probably 600-800 songs or more they could have added, hence, burnout just as you say.

Classic Hits

I just moved to this area recently, so I never got to hear much of "The Cat" but I too would love to have a good "classic hits" station here.

In the meantime, I've been liking what I'm hearing from the "classic hits" formatted KXJK 950 AM. I know, I'm probably the only one in Memphis that even knows they are around.

Re: Classic Hits

KXJK 950 AM used to broadcast in AM stereo. Are they still doing so?

Before I moved they still were, I had one of the old sony stereo walkmans and it was the *only* sorta local station which was still in stereo, although for a time a couple of years ago WJCE 680 still lit the stereo pilot. <P ID="signature">______________
