randy bauman...jimmy needs him bad....

Come on gang, your the insiders, what's the deal with randy bauman? Jimmy is definitly not a one man show, and the support group around him is not co host material. What's going to happen to the world?..........P.S. the show the last few days sounds like the WISH morning show, not DVE!!!!!!

I stopped listening after Paulson left. Krenn needs someone to direct him, and Paulson was perfect. My guess he's just too intelligent and hated pandering to the Yinzer crowd.

They are trying to replace Randy. Wonder what happened that led to his firing?

Does being an integral part of one of the biggest morning shows in rock radio get your creative juices flowing?

Do you want to be a major player on the # 1 rock radio station in the country, WDVE/Pittsburgh?

We're looking for someone to work with the legendary Jim Krenn, talking sports, bringing the funny and just being an overall jagoff!

Wimps need not apply.

We need someone who is knowledgeable in sports, has great writing skills, is a team player, loves the internet, can create great content, be quick on their feet, musically inclined and who wouldn't mind attending Steelers and Penguins games.

Full time on-air position, Monday-Friday, 6-10am.

You can't deny how talented Jim is, can you? I thought Paulson was perfect for him, not a Yinzer, made literary comments, something long gone for 10 years, and kept Krenn if focus. Am I wrong?

No, Krenn needs someone to do all the work.

I agree with you Boss. Randy did all the work.

Krenn is an old-washed up, not funny comedian who is way past his prime. Management at CC should've cut him loose and saved a bundle. Randy could've done that show by himself if he had to. (what with the little support of Val and Mike). When Randy was there, you'd hardly hear anything worthy coming from Krenn. He just responded staley (that's a word I just made up, but you all know what I'm talking about) with words that were hardly audible.

I tune in now just to hear the trainwreck it has become. Bet the CC managers are kicking themselves now.

No I disagree. Krenn has tons of the one thing that Baumann never had and Paulsen doesn't have enough of, he's incredibly likable. He's that warm, friendly person that you want riding along in your car with you. And he's damn funny. But I do agree he needs a foil and a board op. Randy is very talented, brought a lot to the show and had a different kind of humor. He's funny, but not really likable. If you were hanging out with him in a bar, he'd make you laugh for awhie, but you'd probably get really tired of him after a few drinks and go somewhere else. Jimmy'd keep buying you drinks.

I see your point pman44, but I believe it's a fake sincerity on Jimmy's part. It's all an act. Jimmy is not as likeable as you may think. But, I see what you mean.

On air, he's irritating at best.

Division of labor is one of the reasons Scott wanted out. He had also tired of the hours.

But he was spending his off-air hours working on comedy bits, song parodies, etc., then would spend more time producing them. Jim would walk in five minutes before air time, convinced that all he had to do was wheel out the Pittsburgh accent and get laughs. It was the same deal with Randy. He did all the heavy lifting and Jim was happy to react and laugh.

Now Jim has to carry the load, because it will be a long time before Val or Prisuta contribute something noteworthy.

That sounds like Jimmy. And that shows you how far off base he is. Who thinks that talking in a Pittsburgh accent is funny? I really think it dumbs down the Pittburgh male, because a lot of Pittsburgh men don't talk like that.

Yes, Val is really useless. She only does T&A stories, nothing worthwhile to the show. That gets boring fast.

Just because they have no real competitor, doesn't mean they are not hurting. And, it doesn't mean they will not be affected by this. The CC brass surely have to hear how bad it sounds and realize the sent the wrong guy packing. I'm hoping for more dents on DVE.

What's the expression? No one can take advantage of you without your consent?

I just don't think the fact that Paulson's a tad anal retentive makes Krenn the bad guy.

Paulsen was trying to maintain the quality of the show. He resolved the situation by quitting. DVE was lucky enough to find another guy who was willing to do the bulk of the work.

GOOD LORD, HOW DREADFUL THAT SHOW HAS BECOME. IN JUST A WEEK, FROM FUN, TO ABOUT AS EXCITING AS BEING PREPPED FOR HERNIA SURGERY....TALK ABOUT A MAJOR BOO BOO, THIS WAS A DUNDERLUST MOVE.....VAL AND MIKE ARE WHAT THEY ARE...ACCESSORIES, NOT MAIN PLAYERS...SORRY, IF YOU LISTEN AND HAVE BEEN A FAN, YOU'LL AGREE..YESTERDAY,JIMMY DID A BIT THAT LAID A BIGGER EGG THAN A DR SEUSS CHARACTER......VERY SAD...WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF IT'S COMPLETELY BLOWN UP !!!!!!!!!! I'M AFRAID KRENN IS BEING EXPOSED......ARE JIMMY AND STEVE STILL ALIVE?...

In my opinion, when Jimmy and Steve were in their prime, there was no one then or since then who were close to being as funny and original. Consider yourself lucky to have heard them if you did. They were brilliant.

I was a big fan and loyal listener of Jimmy and Steve but I have to admit that Paulsen and Krenn were much funnier. I do find myself singing the Beano Cook theme song whenever he's on ESPN radio, though (Beano, Beano, Beano Cook;Beano help me beat that book;it's not if you win or lose, instead it's whether or not you beat the spread).
