Randy Bell

Wow. It is almost unbelievable to me that this radio legend's retirement has gone unmentioned on this forum. Randy Bell has been on the air delivering news in Mississippi for 49 years, and in June was one of the few to be able to retire from iHeart.

If you are wondering whatever became of him, he can now be heard four days a week doing my old part-time gig with Boswell Media, the cluster of stations in Kosciusko, Philadelphia and Carthage, which is and has been the best radio news gig in Mississippi. Randy Bell is the man and is the man for the job. I hope his voice will never be completely absent from Mississippi's airwaves.

Had the pleasure of working with Randy Bell several years ago. You are correct... Randy is the man when it comes to news reporting in Mississippi. Johnny Boswell is a class operator and does local radio very well.

Gosh, I remember Randy Bell on WZZQ waaaay back in the day! I just heard Randy doing a bad weather report just a few weeks ago on Z106!
