Randy Bloomquist Strikes Again

Now The Car Show with Sam & Dave is gone from WGST. It was the last decent weekend show on WGST after Randy got rid of John Adams and Gene Henssler.

From Sam's website:

Leaving WGST was not our choice, and we are deeply saddened. Dave and I feel very fortunate and special to have been on the air in a top ten radio market for such an incredibly long time. Not many can stand up and say that, so we consider ourselves amongst the fortunate few.

Well, this is sad news for this listener. Sam, Dave and their callers always had interesting conversations. No more WGST for me on Saturday mornings . . .

Will the Viettes be pushing their over priced plants and bulbs? If gardening is your interest (both yard and vegetable), Walter Reeves has proved to be the best source for local information on the radio over the years in Atlanta for our conditions. Was he not on WGST initially years ago?

Randall, will Mad Pundit Radio remain on the air? I am glad to see Cigar Dave return to the Atlanta area, as Dave is entertaining. What about The Legal Edge sans Jamie Bendel . . . Will you slip up and bring it back? George Stein and Noah Pines always had interesting topics and callers. By the way, George had a wery funny DUI tape on TRG's this past week.

Been on the air in A top 10 market? So they're on in no other? Ick.

Oh well, doesn't matter to me. I've listened to them on XM and never on GST.

I figure if I can bring in a few hundred extra dollars in revenue on weekends, it might make them forget the $700,000 a month we're losing Monday through Friday since I took over.

What other top twenty market is selling Limbaugh for $75 a spot?

What a [Edit}=ity radio station. I think that WGST is headed for all religious talk before
the decade is done. It's offically over WGST is dying! For anyone left, get a clue and get over to WSB, before its too late.. WGST what a bunch of low class, no clue as how to program a radio station[EDIT]

[EDIT=vulgarity]

Nope, they're on in a relative handful of smaller markets. They're not syndication professionals. Maybe they will become/hire some now.

Have they EVER been on XM? Certainly not been on XM in the last year, and less likely now that their CC flagship has dumped them. Their best shot at XM was always to ride in on one of the CC-programmed talk channels. Would have been nice.

Well, let's see now. Is there any local weekend content left on GST? Is it now all syndie, CC-owned Premiere, and pay-for-play? Depressing to see that from the station who's once-solid weekend lineup launched Clark Howard's radio career. Not going to be doing THAT sort of thing again any time soon. Feh.

Anyway, Sam and Dave, welcome to the growing fraternity of weekend shows dumped by GST. Your pals at Random Access Radio, John Adams, Dr. Gene, and many, many others have a couple seats and cold beers reserved for ya. You'll learn to love the freedom.

Apparently I mistook this for "America's Car Show."

Re: Racist Randy Bloomquist Strikes Again

I apolgized to the staff at WGST, so I might as well do it on this board. I regret sending out that insenitive email which proved that in addition to being incompetent, I am also a racist. I gave mangement a perfect excuse to get rid of me, as if they didn't already have a million reasons!

I really didn't think the email was that bad, but of course I felt the same way about my performance in Charlotte, D.C., Richmond etc.

I may be wrong... but I suspect that poster "GST Randall" is actually a poser and NOT the real Randy. I know, call me crazy.

And I thought I was the only one . . . Thank you for posting that!
