I heard that CBS let him go with only three weeks severance. After 23 years of service, that sucks. Cletus T. Judd will find a way to blow up in a year or so and they will really be sunk. Cletus comes with a lot of baggage and I think those who know him know what I'm talking about.
 
With pipes like his, unless he was a modern-day diva off mic, he should find something soon.

Cletus and Dave? As an ex-jock, ex-sportscaster at 13 once elequently stated, "Somethings gots to give."

Randy was VERY good to me personally. Helpful & encouraging. A Pros-pro.

Maybe so. But, I'm guessin' Randy was working under a contract and whatever amount he was paid was the payoff on the time remaining on his agreement. if the deal's over - no severance required.

So, why did CLETUS leave? Or was he let go in the past and now re-hired?
 
Cledus left to work for Clearchannel. More money and his own show in Atlanta "and to be closer to Momma & Baby"..But I love his Quote after he left.." I was dying a slow death mentally in Tampa.”
 
Dave and Cledus have more in common than huge egos. They also enjoy similar "hobbies" from what the CBS people I know say (off the record). I give the Dave/Cledus show a year, tops. WQYK has sure made some mistakes since WFUS came on the scene. I am amazed that they still win. Just shows how terrible the folks at Clear Channel are.
 
Cledus will screw over CBS like he did a few years ago with his mental health. Don Howe was a fool to bring him back, but evryone knows Don doesn't know how to run a radio cluster. Everyone runs it for him.

Just like Skip Mahaffey - actually, like Cletus, he left to work for Clear Channel by choice...

So, why would CBS mess up with something that is working? RANDY and DAVE worked out fabulous. Weren't they nominated and won an award for best Country On-Air Personalities? Why bring Cletus and let Randy go? Or better yet, why not then put Cletus at another daypart? Is he really that good to let Randy go?
