Randy is back...

Turned on 'DVE this morning and heard Randy Baumann on-air again. Website has been updated as well. Wonder what all transpired in the last few weeks?

Not a fan of the way 'DVE has handled this. They created the impression that the guy
might be off in rehab or something. Either they had no clue about public perceptions or
they were deliberately trying to damage him. :(

Or they couldn't discuss ongoing contract negotiations at all. That's actually pretty standard. That actually was what gave me hope they were ultimately trying to work this out - if he was done or in rehab or something, they would have said so on the air.

I don't think they would've said he was in rehab corporateradiosucks. They still wouldn't have addressed it on the air, but there would've been a press release explaining his dismissal.

But thankfully Randy is back! I hope the managers at Clear Channel realize just how much money they've wasted by siging Krenn to his contract. Krenn is not even funny. That's sad because he's supposedly a comedian.

So, apparently, DVE has dodged the bullet that they may (or may not) have aimed at their own foot.

It's hard to tell whether Randy held out and won, or was forced to settle for less. Either way, I will only speak for
myself in saying that if I had been pulled off the air and taken off the web site -- essentially, erased -- I would be
reluctant to return to the station or company that had done so.

I hear ya' but, on the other hand, times are tough out there.

Ha, no, I didn't mean they would have said "Randy is drying his alcoholic ass out at Serene Meadows" or whatever - more along the lines of "Randy is taking a personal leave, we wish him all the best."
