Randy Michaels, former CEO of Clear Channel, was arrested for drunken driving at around 2AM this morning near Cincinnati. He of course is now CEO of Merlin Media, which recently launched FM All News stations in New York and Chicago.

Just about everyone I ever worked with in radio was/is nuts. You've GOT to be! What a weird biz, especially on the performing side.
So there's a side of me that really isn't surprised nor do I care. Randy is Randy, always has been, always will be. If you work for him and drink the Kool-Aid, you can have a LOT of fun and make a lot of money.
Certainly unconventional, true, but I like the wildness more and more, as I see and hear the corporatization of radio, which is flat out depressing. Where's the fun everywhere else?
I wonder if he's onto something?
Or on something?
