Rangers will stay on KRLD

There will be a 3:00 news conference this afternoon which will be carried on KRLD. They just had the communications person on the morning news who made the big announcement. They did say that there is more that will be announced at this news conference. I wonder what it is?

How long the contract is for, for one. The few times I heard the news before I got home this morning, they said nothing about the amount of years. There must be other aspects to the deal, though.

Ugh, oh well, Rangers Radio 1080 is alive and well, and news/traffic gets to go down the list in priority--again.
 
The news coming out is next year the Rangers will be moving to Montreal,Canada.The reasoning behind the move is because of the Texas heat in July August and September(the time of the Traditional Ranger collapse). The heat has taken away any chance of competing for the Pennant,and the clear cool air of Montreal will satisfy the requirements of this quest.They will be playing in the former Olympic stadium where the Expos used to play.The original plan was to go back to Washington DC and become the Seantor one more but the Canadians beat them to it.Therefore they chose Montreal.They will become the "Montreal Mounties"next season with hopes of "getting their man" to lead them to the pennant. To satisfy Ranger fans KRLD,The Rangers and Southwest airlines will fly fans to all home games in Montreal at discount rates that will include game tickets,and free bobble head dolls of their favorite player for the first 50 games of the season for every fan.KRLD will still be the flagship station and will add the son of "Fiddlin" Frenchy Burke as color analyst.Ameriquest field will be transformed into an office for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones once the New Cowboy stadium is built down the street.

Too bad the rangers didnt get smart and get the games back over to 820.
 
The contract will only be for two years. It will be interesting to see how KRLD "spins" the reason for the short term deal. Could it be because Tom Hicks and Jerry Jones are collaborating on some "things" down the road that might move the rights for BOTH teams "in house?" Might there also be another interested party in the offing for Cowboys radio rights? Could anything like that "Siriusly" be under consideration?

I have a feeling sirius will go after MLB after its current contract with XM ends. Seeing they have NFL/NHL/NBA,not to mention NASCAR in 2007, Collegant and international sports, this may not be way too out of step.

I suppose anything is possible. But the larger question is will Sirius even still EXIST in ELEVEN YEARS? That's how long the XM deal is with Major League Baseball. It's amazing what nearly 3/4 of a BILLION dollars buys these days.

Southwest Airlines wouldn't be flying fans
anywhere near YUL until and unless the
"Wrong" Amendment is repealed.

If I could FIND any humans on the 5th floor, I would. Unfortunately, none exist. It's amazing how so many bodies can fill so much space on 5, yet continue to post negative numbers when it comes to a total count of souls.
