Manders is better now than when he was on KMJ. Inga does a good job with state politics, but still doesn't seem to know much about Fresno. Franklin is solid. Chris Daniel tries to make every segment humorous, yet he's not funny. Broeske is just an angry old man. No Appleton on the list? Say it isn't so. Fresno Bee readers voted him #1...the readers can't be wrong can they? Appleton sounds tired and worn out.

I'm sure having active employment in radio somehow disqualifies me from having an opinion in the sage opinion of the board, but I've got to say: Look at the ratings. It gets clear really, really fast who's #1.

There's not enough talent in this market to justify a ranking.
Manders is worth listening to, if only because of sometimes absurd positions he's promoting. His program is all about getting people angry and talking. Given that "talking" the goal, not a bad concept. Appleton is the same old stuff recycled for the past 25 years. Manders could whip Appleton's butt in any debate.

Daniel, Broeske, Appleton.
I used to like Manders quite a bit on KMJ, but he seemed more moderate; every time I listen to him now it sounds like he is just trying to be the most conservative host in town.
I think Lipp is very talented, just not real good at conservative talk by herself. I liked her time on KMJ the best when she was paired with Aaron Arnette. I haven't heard much John and Jen, my opinion of Broeske is based on guesting for Appleton.
Honorable mention for Mark Holste. Miss 'dogtalk from the good ol' days.
As far a Daniel goes I'm not going to argue with anyone, he is the best in town, but he's not a natural conservative talk show host (not that I am accusing him of faking his politics, I'm sure he's been a Republican for quite some time) he's a radio guy, a jock, a Triple A hot talker type who is doing a great job of staying relevant in this radio environment.
Time to can Barks. KMJ should have asked her to move after she sued all of her friends in Bakersfield.
Am I the only one who feels like letting her stay in Bakersfield would be like KFI hiring a person that used to be big in San Francisco but is no longer on the air any where but KFI but this person still does the show from their house in San Fran.

Chris Daniel is BORING! I can't understand what is so great about his show. I tried listening and I am asking myself, "Where are we going with this?"
His radio show is like what George Carlin says about watching golf on TV, "It's boring, it's like watching flies f*ck." ;D ;D ;D

There is no talker in Fresno that I can stand to listen to for more than about 5 minutes. And I've been a talk radio fan since the 70s. (RIP KGO)
Used to check out Applecracker once in awhile... had to make my own rule to follow to minimize frustration: I would listen until I heard the first thing I heard him say that I knew was an out and out lie. Not an opinion stated by him but something he would state as being fact, which I knew was NOT as he claimed. Usually, these were in his opening monologue, so I was usually gone within first 5 min of his program. Broesky- same rule- 1st lie and I'm gone- same result. It's just too insane to listen to something that you know is untrue when there is no opportunity to rebut the speaker.
Tried the John n Jenn show for a couple weeks- I wont even bother to see what their topic is anymore:
Broeske= the biggest blow-hard in the Valley
Lipp= replies to affirm whatever Broeske says :: CONSTANTLY - over and over and over "yes .. right.. ok ..sure .. that's true .. ya ... you're right.... exactly... for sure.. yes.. sure... ya .. yup .. that's right .. of course .. that's exactly right ... I know,huh... right on... that's right.. yes... exactly..you bet ... true.. oh,yes ..right .. exactly.... and on and on and on ...

That's Lipp in a nutshell.
This is my idea. Broeske on his own, and Lipp does news at bottom of the hour for the Broeske show and the Daniel show; but let the host (Daniel or Broeske) comment on the news she reads. Freaks once per show.
