Amy quit last week...

> Mornings

I'm going to have to go with the Kiss Morning Mess on this one. Most creative of the shows that i've heard in town, with nipsey/earl/jen shade as a close second.

>
> Middays

TIE: Moe Rock on the X and Damian Roads on FM97. They're the only midday personalities around here i can stomach.

>
> Afternoons

Hollywood on Wink hands down. Though, i wish he'd be a little more creative with his phone calls.

>
> Nights

Anything but Delilah.

Who else can read 3 liners, announce a winner, promo something, have a girl giggle in the background saying "teeheehee oh hollywood" and do a relate all in 17 seconds during the intro to a song. Not stepping on it. Not making it sound crowded. Hollywood.
______________

Dinato and Tonto on HYL for mornings

Hollywood afternoons

The rest of them need to visit the Bruce Bond retirement home.

btw, for the love of god, why hasnt Nipsy gone back to afternoons, Ed on the X in the mornings, and Earl back to...........

just an observation

No offense to you or Mr. Hefflefinger (his longevity deserves respect)...but it seems that some of you guys are laying on the hero-worship pretty thick. Hollywood's nasally, forced sound is fairly dated, and his content/delivery isn't what I would qualify as breakthough personality material.

But with that said...no afternoon music jocks in this market are spectacular by any stretch. The real communicators are am drive, by far.

Nipsey's endearing...KISS Morning Mess are entertaining and no one has mentioned Nancy and Newman from Bob??? Denny would be GREAT in afternoons...I just have no taste for Sue Campbell. I find her predictable and quite annoying.

One guy's opinion :)

That may or may not be accurate...but it still stands that he's one of the few jocks who can project charisma over the air waves and--while I sarcastically exaggerate about his breaks--it still remains that he can actually talk up a song and do a relate.

Of course it's fairly dated. It's old school radio. You know, back when it was a pleasure to flip on the radio because of the personality and local stuff.

Don't tell me you enjoy the Kelly Iris 3 second "this is so-and-so on wink 104" breaks over a 15 second intro, the screaming-so-loud-the-mic-overmodulates crap of Kiss/Hot weekend prophet cowboys, or the jukebox-with-commercials nonsense.

Yeah..I'm one of "those" people who listen more for the music and traffic than for the dee jays that try to be entertaining. Although, give me someone like Phil Hendrie or Howard Stern and I'll tune in...

Personally, I miss the old late night guessing game feature that WINK used to have... "What is Sam Buca Eating"... did anyone actually ever call? What would the prize have been- A Kit Kat bar out of the Wink vending machine?

Hahahhahahaahahaha. Denny did "what is denny logan wearing", so since I filled in for him it was a segment called "What Is Sam Buca Who's Sitting in For Denny Logan Eating - The Complete Rip Off Of What Is Denny Logan Wearing". No prizes though.

I can't believe someone remembered a ridiculous bit like that. Ha.
______________
