RARE & FORGOTTEN CHR/Top 40 SYNDICATED SHOWS.......

Hello, all. I'm trying to compile a list of rare and short lived nationally syndicated CHR radio shows. So, I was wondering if ANYONE has information (or at least remembers) some 1980's/90's CHR syndicated shows that I can't find any info on....AT ALL! I'm beginning to think I must've dreamt that these shows ever exsisted!

The first was a RICK DEES (obviously I know The Weekly Top 40 Countdown) but aside from that, there was
a daily radio show from about 1985-1989 (can't think of name) that ran for 1hr everyday (Monday-Friday). (At least where I lived in Augusta, GA it was on every weekday morning from 5AM to 6 on 104.3 WBBQ)
And another from RICK DEES....unless I'm crazy....I think he had an additional show on weekends...(aside from Weekly Top 40). In the 1990's It was for 3 hours and we got it in Augusta, GA on Friday Nights from 10pm-1am)

The next show was a 4hr Top 40 countdown hosted by DAVE SHOLAN (..sp) called...something like, National Music Countown...." (from about 1984-1990)

Another was an easy one (but can't find info on it)....JOEL DENVER's Future Hits (ran from 1984 until about 1993)

And last but not least was JOHN LANDER's "Hit Music U.S.A."

I would love any info on these past CHR shows as well as any other's you may think of.

ANY THOUGHTS?

One that I remember is "American Dance Traxx", first hosted by Jeff Wyatt (Power 106's then-PD) who was later replaced by "Downtown" Julie Brown (of MTV fame). Don't know when it ended.

There was another show that I can't remember what it was called, but it was hosted by Jay Thomas.

American Dance traxx used to air on the CHR station I work at in the early 90s, but it only lasted a year or two..........What about All Night Cafe,,,, Aired by alot of Small Market CHRs in the over nights,,, but it became Romeo's playhouse,, which is still an Okay show, but I liked the name All Night Cafe and the Host a bit better,, Plus all night cafe played more remixes and dance music and was over all more Rhythmic leaned,,,, But Romeo's playhouse is still good for overnights,,, I dont care for the stations that air it from 7 pm to midnight on weedays,, that time slot should be local,,,, but its a great overnight show,, I take him over seacrest anyday.

Jackson Blue is the new host of Romeo's Playhouse, syndicated by Superadio (the Open House Party folks). It's a decent alternative if a live night show isn't possible.

So If Romeo is gone,, they need to bring back the all night cafe name.. Ill check it out on Power hits 97.5 from Junction City KS tonight on the stream.. They air it in over nights where it should be.. It is alot like OHP,,,, All Night Cafe was a Superadio show too.

Anyone remember a radio show called Party America back in the to late 1980's with Joe Nasty and Fast Jimmy Roberts? I always thought that was a cool show.

It's called "Party Playhouse" now.  Jackson Blue does afternoons on KBKS in Dallas.  There's a 7-mid (eastern)/6-11p (central) live show and a 12-5a E/11p-4a C overnight re-feed of it...which is when Open House Party airs too, except on weekends.  PP and OHP are barter shows, so you air the network spots and not pay anything.

Jeff Wyatt rocked back in the day. Open House Party too. Listened to them both growing up outside of Boston.

Who can forget the King of the tease - Casey. My brother and I would stay glued to the radio while guessing the answer to Casey's segments.
