Rascal Flatts...2 songs similar melody?

Is it just me of does the new Rascal Flatts' song "Summer Nights" sound very similar melody wise to "Life is a Highway"?
 
Yes! The first time I heard it I thought it was a mix version of "Life Is A Highway".

Do you guys think that RF is past their peak in popularity?
 
With country getting more about image in some cases, I think you'll see them churning out the same songs like this as most of the RF songs hit pop and a/c after it's run on country radio, and if they fade from country, I see them running for a few years there before running out of gas
