Ratings and format holes

That's almost unheard of, isn't it?
I would still call Q-105 an "Oldies" station.

I don't see them as duplicated such as the term "Classic hits" would suggest.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

107.3 is a ratings and billing monster. AAA has a track record nationally of being a niche format that is lucky to pull a 2-share (The old Point on 102.5 wasn't really AAA, although I wonder why more programmers don't take the approach they did back in the day... it did pretty well for a few years). It would have to go on a signal like 97.1 or 98.7.

But that is only 6+, which doesn't matter at all to advertisers. AAA's audience is mostly in the 25-54 demo and tends to be well educated (which assumes more disposable income). I never knew Dave Matthews Band and other AAA artists were so popular until I started college...

On a classic hits station I would hear Abba. WXGL is really "Classic Rock" labeled as classic hits. All with Cox's flagship WSRV 97.1 The River as its mother ship carrying the lead.
