Rick, would you be willing to go on the record and say The Bone is looking to improve its signal? Tell ya what, I'm in Lansdale, Montgomery County, and 107.1 comes in here like gangbusters. In fact, I used to get P.O.'ed that it would beat up on my XM MyFi. Love The Bone, but I need my morning O&A fix!!! :)

If I remember correctly, the 107 signal came from Big Citys quad cast and is pretty much stuck where it is (Totts Gap, Pa.) Kinda hard to move that one, and since its a class A(6kW) signal is pretty crappy in the valley. Calling the Bone the Valleys real rock station is a bit deceiving IMHO because the signal barely gets into Bethlehem. Power increase is out of the question, although Nassau may be able to move it down a little closer to the Valley, Wind Gap for instance, just might make that thing work. Be interesting to see what they do w/it, since it does seem to be catching on with the younger demo.... Guess we have to keep watching this board for updates.

well ken was always too cheesy for me .. and i've always hated mike kelly .. in my opinion they went from bad to worse.. but its Allentown so that could explain it .. =)

remember.. even with cheese... u can always serve crackers and have a good time... :cool:
however.. i'd take 3rd on my worst day over 6th and a steadh slide downward and a loss to an am station any day of the week. if management hasnt' figured that was a dumb move by now.. its time to change management.. for sure. sheesh. don't know any other business that would fly in without heads rolling. must be nice.
 
and a hush falls over the crowd.... guess no one at b104 wants to comment on thier ratings huh? then again.. i wouldn't want too either.
 
Simple facts...

HAWK - Ken & Kitty tanked in their first book. The rest of the station did just fine. They just don't "fit" the HAWK.

B-104 - In the money demo (25-54) mornings are weak. Dropping Ken was an expensive mistake. However, the rest of the station is doing ok with women/adults. Kramer and Kelly aren't working.

WZZO - Is down a little, but still top 3 in the money demo. Bearman & Keith are still solid. You go TORI!

WCTO - It has it's ups and downs, and now it's on an upswing. Becca and Malone are actually the second best AM show of the big 5.

WLEV - Still 5th in the money demo. It's saving grace is B-104 is SINKING to its level, versus the station actually getting better.

WAEB - Yes, Gunther beats B-104 with 12+ in monring drive. Big deal.

Mistakes of the past year...

1) Letting Rick Michaels go from the Hawk
2) Letting Ken Mathews go from the B (But, I think it's safe to say he won't be back on LV radio anytime soon.)

What ever happening to the string of morning guys on WLEV? Dave Russell, Dave James, Beachman, Franceman, Mike Manion, Rick Edwards, Bob Wallace, Mark Sheppard... have a missed anybody?

so what makes u say that?? is that saying that management is too retarded to admit mistakes and change what they did wrong?? or that the stations are too cheap to pay him???

but that lehigh valley mall... neat stores ... i highly suggest trying bravo cucina italiana... i'd compare it to the macaroni grill... and i'd get the flatbread appetizer... delish.. however ... i'd have the guy that designed it shot for its parking set up. but that's just me.


wrathchild... good god am i glad i'm not in your business... how someone can make less than a person at mcd's in that type of business is beyond me... now i understand why so many people in radio are bitter.. you have my sympathy's.
