Ratings-Dayton Version

Mainline's ratings have reappeared, first of all. The big story, IMO, is..what the heck happened to Mix? Quite a dive from shares in the high 6's to the 8's now 5.4 (a tenth of a point behind Fly and tied with WLW and WXEG). K99.1 is still the market leader but down, and WHIO AM/FM takes number two. 'TUE and Hot are in the 7s and with Lite (not too long before Jingle Bells) between them and Fly. WONE brings up the rear.

Well, well...Fly is no doubt a success story!  It only took them what, nine months to beat 'MMX?  'MMX is stuck in the 80s and sinking fast.  They've stuck with the status quo for far too long, and it finally caught up with them and bit them in the arse(or kicked them in the Fly lol!).  Fly started hot with a 5.8, went to a 3.9, and now they're back in the 5s(5.5) and BEATING Mix(Which has a 5.4).   I never thought i'd see the day when WGTZ would beat WMMX, but the day has come, even if it is by a tenth of a point.  Mix has to stop acting like Fly doesn't exist.  They haven't even tried to change since Fly hit the airwaves a little under a year ago.  WGTZ is back and better than ever!  :)

I have this feeling that Dayton may be the next market to lose a SJ outlet....it would be too bad because, like the format or not, it is at least something different on the airwaves. Kudos to Fly in topping Mix...at least in this book. Off topic - anyone know the status on Kiss Country moving to 101.5 and closer to Dayton?

Smooth Jazz? The Broadcast Architecture feed that they and WCIN are using SUCKS! It's everything BUT Smooth Jazz.

In all honesty, I think if MMX were to sound a little more like WKRQ in Cincinnati with an older lean like WBNS in Columbus, it would perform better. However MMX makes a TON of money and I dont see it changing very soon.

My thoughts exactly! However, I see Mix staying stuck in the 80s and not changing. ::)
