Ok, this has happened before. But sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't.

Can someone clear up for me how this process goes down? Does someone tip Arbitron off that sharing is going on? Or how does it work. They do it about once a year now with Tulsa ratings.

They're doing it about every trend & book now. Too bad the people who most rely on Arbitron can't seem to maintain a modicum of integrity. Some of the Tulsa gm's and sales mgr's are less trustworthy than a bankteller on crack.

Long story...short: A small radio group in Tulsa was getting the numbers from another station. Instead of keeping it in the upper ranks, they shared it with the staff. The numbers got out to a client and Arbitron was upset. Then when the Arbitron rep came to town to talk with the group manager, he had a copy of the latest e-book on his desk. It is not illegal to have a copy if you don't subscribe, you just cannot sell with it. Fan of Arbitron...NO. Do I understand why they embargo...YES.
