RATINGS: HLN BEATING CNN AND MSNBC?

BRNout said:
Ratings fueled by the Casey Anthony trial - look for great numbers from HLN for this week. The same group that obsesses over American Idol, skanky "housewives" of Newark, and Dancing with the Stars has overwhelmingly become interested in this case du jour.

And yes, there were the makings of a television event here:

1) A fully televised trial, thanks to Florida law allowing it;

2) A cute little girl as victim;

3) An attractive (sorry landtuna, but she is - relatively speaking) little hoochie mama accused of partying her little a** off after murdering her daughter;

4) A fully dysfunctional white trash (yet somewhat telegenic) family; and,

5) Various other salacious details of the case.

Add it all up and it wowed the under 120 IQ crowd. That adds up to boffo ratings for HLN. And, as we all know, it's all about the Benjamins and not about integrity. Nor is it about whether this "news" matters one bit.

I remember a case of a couple of young college kids who were tortured and murdered in Tennessee. The kids were white, the torturers were black. And the case didn't even make it to the ticker. That one didn't have all of the critical ingredients that Nancy Grace and media whores of her ilk can run with to the bank. The Anthony case does.

And yes, it's sad that this is what we have been reduced to as a society.

CNN has been slowly taking the route of Hardly Legitimate News over the past several months. No surprise, the architect behind HLN, Ken Jautz, now heads CNN in the U.S.

I can't wait until the cable news ratings for Tuesday night are released. It'll be interesting to see if the show can actually do what no other competing show in that time slot has done in years: beat Bill O'Reilly...

Best ratings for Grace ever:

Thought I read something yesterday where she actually beat O'Reilly. TVByTheNumbers.com will have Tuesday's numbers later today.

And all the other woman on HLN are a carbon copy of Nancy Grace, all annoying
It is one thing to be fair in hiring and select the most qualified for a position. That's the way hiring should be conducted, however, HLN almost screams "look how diverse we are"! We put these no talents on national TV!

Heres one other question If there are no cameras, Money and news directors around Nancy Grace will she still act paranoid? Its got to be that Grace acts paranoid as long the directors HLN say her paranoia act is raking in the $$$. Remember in March 2011 right after the Japan quake she treated the Nuclear expert as if he nuked Japan. Look Fox did the same thing with Beck when he acted paranoid on the supposed Obama death panels as long he is raking the money for Fox.
