Ratings: July 2013

It appears that HJY, Coast, and Hot 106 are trending up. Lite, B101, and WPRO-AM are trending down.

For comparison, here's New Bedford, also recently updated:

Coast, WoW
Coast-FM......WOW! indeed. So much for that theory about how Coast is the "one music station too many". True enough....there still might be such a station in the market......but it no longer appears to be Coast.

A few other thoughts......

WPRO-AM still winner of the News/Talk war (such as it is)......without having to work up much of a sweat.

I was expecting to see both WBZ-98.5 and WVEI-103.7 in the survey...but neither of them showed.

And......at the risk of ruffling any feathers out there....Our own home-spun NPR contunues to trail Boston's WGBH-FM. Just sayin'......

These numbers will flip flop like they always do. I wonder how Toby is doing in the morning on Coast. It's been years since the heyday of Jones and Joan when 93.3 had any morning show continuity and I just can't imagine people breaking their morning listening habits to listen to him.

I guess what I am trying to say is Coast and Hot 106 for a while now have been yesterdays left overs that no body wants to toss out and now its the complete opposite
Surprised at Hot 106 numbers trending up since HOT 96 and AMP 103 overlap in Providence.I'm beginning not to trust these numbers. My understanding if you dont subscribe your not counted and your share goes somewhere to who is subscribing.
I know I said that kinda fuzzy so I apologize.
Also,Chit Chat not to long ago of a possible flip to Country on 106.3 to the cheap off the bird NASH FM and all of sudden Hot 106's numbers are going up.Im confused.Country 102.5 is number #1 in Boston right now and Cat is doing great.I don't get it .

That's not how the ratings work. The publicly released 6+ PPM numbers include all stations who subscribe. If a station or cluster doesn't subscribe, those top line numbers aren't released PUBLICLY, but they still exist. The share isn't redistributed.
