Like I said earlier, it seems the stations with all these transmitters trying to serve their community are winding down in the ratings.  Pretty soon, WYXL from Ithaca is gonna beat WRRQ in the ratings.  I say with all these adult contemporary stations we have, and the most listened to are Star and Mix, why not for Q to flip to a CHR/Rhythmic/Dance leaning format.  Something new and live should spice up the Binghamton airwaves and would sure boost their ratings, and see some good competition for Wild. Not just that, I'm sure that it will release newer material faster than when Wild releases new tracks that are heard everywhere else 3-4 months later. I mean, I'm sure you might have taken a look at the CHR Mainstream Pop and CHR Rhythmic forums to see whats new and hot, and noticed that Wild wont touch it until months later. There is NO doubt that there is an audience out there that would love to hear a "party" station or some kind of rhythmic beat come to the Southern Tier.

Citadel top three 12+. Farid says break out the champagne! And how about that share price of 18 cents? Good times!

Kevin Legrett will by sending down a split of Andre's finest. Do not drink it on company time.

Citadel is definitely on a roll. I knew WNBF would come back as the last book looked like weird stuff. You mention WRRQ. The station might have been put on the air just to get it on the air. I am not sure anyone knows the format. I actually listened to it a few days ago for an hour and couldn't figure out what it was but I am not a programmer. I am surprised they don't do anything with the station. Then there is their sister Cool which..is it oldies or AC? That's what has been hurting them. A real oldies station would kill in this market. YOS showed that in the past. Cool is like WRRQ...doesn't know what format it is. Horrible choices for many oldies and the AC stuff? Leave that to Mix. I bet the only station they care about is the Met in Elmira and they don't even listen to the stations locally. Maybe they did listen and turned them off since they are so bad.

I originally thought at first their transmitters was there because those stations were "the best of the best", now its proven by arbitron that there's a problem. Someone earlier mentioned that "it's all about pride to see who has the most transmitters" and to "prevent competition", so that really shows the people that they will make their stations to suck. Even though I programmed an internet station and things are completely different with Internet and FM, I'm sure a dedicated programmer would stick to their format on what they REALLY are and not combine two formats into one. Yes, if Cool was said to be "oldies" or even "classic hits" like CBS-FM in NYC, then you will see Cool be in the top 3. If they even want to be risky and let the ball roll, with so much effort with the staff and give the people what they want with the format, maybe, just maybe, Cool can beat The Hawk in the ratings one day. Yes, I also mentioned WRRQ. I know their main stick is in Windsor, but they do serve Binghamton pretty well with all three frequencies. IMHO, there's no need for 4 AC stations in Binghamton. It will not hurt Q to flip to something they can compete with, if that's what they want. It won't hurt Cool to give the format their true name of "oldies" if they just show more interest in the product. I guess they dont mind being in the rock bottom of the ladder, and letting the Elmira-Corning stations beat them in the ratings too.
