ratings part 2

Has anyone checked the daypart ratings? I was surprised that Drex finally got in the top 10, tied with Eddie & Jobo for mornings. Will we see Drex in the top 10 for a few more books, or just spring and possibly summer books? I was even more surprised that Nikki got in the top 10 for afternoon drive. Just my opinion, but I think Nikki sounded better on middays. Scott Tyler in my opinion was a better choice for afternoons. Too bad he's no longer at Kiss FM. That's all I'll comment as much of the daypart ratings aren't much different from the last book. Also limited discussion also makes it difficult.

Only Arbitron subscribers receive that information. I don't know of anyone who publishes it elsewhere (and I'm sure Arbitron wouldn't allow it).

Feder had some of them in his column this morning.

What gets published online and in newspapers only show the generalized ratings, including the daypart ratings, and that gets limited just for the top 10. But you're right, only Arbitron subscribers get the breakdown by age, race, & gender. I might be wrong on that, but I'm sure we're both right on that.

Actually, it is age, ethnicity and gender... since Hispanic is not a race.

The stratification variables subscribers can use include:

Age
Sex
Ethnicity
Income level
Language dominance (Hispanics only)
Geography (including ZIP codes and areas sample units)
Listening location

This book was crazy all around, with unexpected rises from The Mix, Love-FM, Kiss, The Drive, and WXRT and big drops for Passion, The Zone, WLIT and V103.

It's too early to crown any kings or queens at Kiss, because one book doesn't necessarily mean anything. If the summer book keeps up their streak, then it's meaningful; otherwise, it's just another Arbitron hiccup.

It's too bad that Scott Tyler and Java Joel aren't still at the station, because they definitely helped build it up more than any of the current airstaff, and the station would be even stronger with them on the air.
