I was wondering, does Arbitron or any other company do ratings periods for Satellite radio? And how do they do it?

Both companies research their listener bases internally.

Arbitron Measures XM

" Both companies research their listener bases internally."

Arbitron has measured XM listening since launch of 2001.

Using extensive phone surveys of subscribers and an increasing
data base to draw from.

Channels are measured the same as terrestrial.

Cume, AQH and TSL.

Internal research is used to determine customer satisfaction, likes
and dislikes.

Would'nt you like to know the rankings :)

Say pretty please !

Having just been a part of an arbitron diary locally, they are actually looking for sattelite listnership as well as internet listnership. Part of the instructions tells you to record these options if you are listening to them.

Nock

If you listen to a local radio station via the Internet, it counts in the Arbitron ratings.<P ID="signature">______________
