ratings (specifically 107.5)

Does arbitron use a different way of measuring the audience. I just find it hard to believe that 107.5 would just tumble like that in the ratings. I mean i think they suck but 15 year old girls don't know the difference. Seriously they haven't changed the way they do music (playing the top 20 and only the top 20). I don't know just seems wierd to me, and why isn't wmni number one dag-nabit!!!!

Hmm... maybe they just have been sucking more! lol... I got no problems with Power, but they are very watered down. Columbus needs a new urban/rhythmic to stomp Power into the ground.

It is very possible for any station to simply have one really bad month in the monthly Arbitron rolling averages and see a tumble like that. It's happened before. Or, it could be a real problem. But you can't tell just by looking at that 12 plus number...you have to look further into the book to decide if it's fact or just a bad month that will eventually roll off.

You can't make snap judgements using that 12 plus number.

power 107.5 isn't watered down. they are right up there with hot97 in new york and hot 107.9 in atlanta. yet they still have the r&b variety of wgci in chicago. wait.......it isn't 1996, and 107.5's call letters aren't wjza. so....they aren't local anymore. wait i'll turn on my radio just to see what they sound like. hmmmm.......nelly furtado, i see, interesting. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! My first attempt at comedy. you've been a great audience.

Back in the mid 80s I lived in Norfolk, Virginia and listened to a Top 40 Radio station there. As expected they played only the Top 40 songs in the charts. However, for a while I thought that I must have developed the ability to predict the future as I could easily identify the next song they would play every time. Turns out they would lay out a playlist and not shuffle or mix it up at all, so it was like listening to the same cassette of songs. Once I figured this out, I started looking for other stations to listen to, as I knew what they were going to play before they even played it.

Not saying that is what 107.5 is doing, however, the reason their ratings are dropping may be something as simple as that. Maybe they are getting stale and those teenage girls are looking for something fresh.
