RATINGS: WCAP-980 SHOWS!

It hasn't happened for a long time, but the July 2007 ratings shows Lowell's WCAP-980 in the "below half-point" category. I am wondering if maybe this is due to the new ownership's doing and/or the media coverage of the sale of the station. Media coverage has affected station ratings before.... like perhaps WRKO's impressive high ratings in the past 5 months; probably many people tuning in to hear what Howie says or doesn't say about a move (it's NOT the ailmemt or investment infomercials). Same possible ratings spike for WJIB-740 in March due to newspaper coverage of a commerical station doing fund-raising.

Is it possible that radioandrecords.com ran the results to more places, and below .5's suddenly appeared? If you look closely, they have ratings points for WCAP going back a few months, but this is the first time I've seen them on the list. Now if they would just replace the moribund mid-day shows they run with better shows, maybe they'd reach WJIB numbers!
