Ratings without numbers

I hadn't thought about it, but you are right. That was a very smart move. I personally would love to see Clear Channel fight back by unveiling "96 X".

How about 94.9X I hear the Bull pulled a 0.0 with 18-34 year olds in AM drive, rock on Cledus!

And Jabba...to answer your question. They are all related. The Dickey family owns Cumulus. One of the Dickey brother's (Or one of the son's of Lew Dickey, David) runs Dickey Broadcasting (680 the fan et al).

The Dickey family, including Dad, owns Dickey Broadcasting. And yes, David Dickey (one of the brothers) is GM of 680 The Fan.

Cumulus is a public company, owned by its shareholders. Lew Dickey is CEO and I'm sure owns a significant amount of stock, as several of the Dickey brothers probably do also. Cumulus Media Partners, which owns the former Susquehanna properties, is (I believe) a private company owned by Cumulus and 2 holding companies. Cumulus Radio, however, runs Cumulus Media Partners.

I am astounded by those Fan numbers. Their current trend is where the two were combined last year. I expected Rock 100.5 to take a chunk out of their audience.

Rock 100.5 to me is one of the best stations I have heard in a long time from a music standpoint, certainly this decade. I can only relate it to 99x in the 90's. 99x was more of a promotions machine back then and the peak of the new rock music scene. But Rock offers a diverse piece of music and TRG III is rocking. They hit the ground running and haven't slowed up. They were correct in saying SSS was essential to the show. The station as a whole also came out of the gates the right way. No 10,00 songs in a row with no jocks. they start day one with every day part but mid-afternoons and filled that in about a month's time. Cumulus should be applauded on this.

I brought this up in earlier posts but what does it say if rock 100.5 puts up better numbers almost immediately than Q does now or certainly did on that frequency? I think it takes a little shine off of Bert and Q.

congrats tibbs u must be happy.
