I feel very badly for Arlene Violet.
It's got to be so dishearteneing for her to know she's working for idiots who've taken a once very proud, very vital and very relevant radio station in the Rhode Island market and made it completely irrelevant in under one year.
Now under 2 and dropping.
Amazing!!

BTW, does anyone know what Arlene's ratings are??
Given the overall horrific ratings of their entire programming I've got to believe Arlene is more than holding her own against PRO in her time slot.

HJJ is obviously tanking but as far as the comment about Charles I seriously doubt his future there depends more if not solely on his performance on HJY and not HJJ.If CC could find a way to eliminate higher paid people without losing listeners I am sure they would but for now the HJY lineup in drive time slots will not be touched.It may be a longer term plan to make changes but Charles on HJJ will not affect any such decision.

I think Geoff Charles is good. The problem is that he needs to be teamed up with someone who he has chemistry with. There has to be a female out there who could turn Charles into a show which would make it the local eqivilant of Howard and Robin. I hear the potential Charles has. But he is being dragged down by a bad co-host and an even worse radio station.
When Imus finally croaks you should put Charles on in the morning. Until then figure out a way to put him on in afternoon drive. Then move him to mornings when Imus takes his last breath. But as of now a radio station with personality and not politics is what WHJJ needs.
If I was the program Director I would make that place sound as close to the old WNBC New York as possible. Now "THAT" place had personality"!
Let's try out this new WHJJ lineup below.

I think it's funny someone suggested Depetro work 10-3. Depetro gets about 10 weeks vacation a year and only worked a 10-12 shift on HJJ before 9/11/01. JD is great, but you better pay him overtime for more than 3 hours a day.

Before it changed to Air America programming, WHJJ broadcast 2 hours daily of Sean Hannity and Dr. Laura. I'd like to see the station bring back both of those shows in addition to Arlene and John, and Phil Hendrie is another good idea.

Most CC-owned "progressive" talk stations are 24/7 birdfeed.
