Comments on the ratings?

First me,
-looks like Outlaw 92.5 needs a change.
-1010 AM, what's the point, just turn off the transmitter.
-WWBA not doing too bad.
-103.5 vs. 99.5 QYK Country war is going to be interesting.

Smart money would be on a change at 92.5 within days/weeks. Appears 103.5 has made a dent in QYK.

Alright, some comments from an interested distant spectator, if nobody minds?!

- If WRBQ (Q105) caught wind of these ratings (an impressive 1.7 drop), it's no wonder the historic Q105 name is back.
- Mix (WMTX) isn't as dead as some people on this board suggested... it's gone back up ever so slightly in the Tampa market and is back up in neighbouring Lakeland and, even more impressively, in Sarasota-Bradenton. It rates well for a Hot AC station in a relatively large market. I'd guess it's still doing very well in female demos, but I've only seen the general R&R published ratings... any details?
- As TampaTV said, the country war will be big with the new US 103.5 gaining impressively as WQYK goes down by a similar amount. WYUU could be a casualty? What is it likely to flip to, if it does? Not a great set of ratings in general for the Tampa Infinity cluster.
- Looking around neighbouring ratings, WPCV really does have impressive ratings in Lakeland doesn't it?!

PS - Apologies for the English spellings ;-)<P ID="signature">______________

WPCV has always had huge numbers...Main reason is because they're always out and about...always talking about local stuff. Much like we do here on CTQ in Sarasota/Bradenton!

I've had to make a couple of trips to Polk County recently and both times I saw a WPCV van doing a remote. How about that? A local radio station in the community meeting people and doing well. What a concept!

I've always enjoyed CTQ, they seem to play songs the other country stations don't and they always sound up-beat. I like the oldies show on Sunday night. They get a good signal into most of the southern half of Pinellas county. Will CC make any changes with a strong signal on 103.5 going into the country wars in Tampa?

103.5 technically should be part of the CC Sarasota/Bradenton Cluster as it's a Bradenton station, not a Tampa Station, but like 102.5 being licensed to Sarasota, it's studio is in St. Pete.

Odd isn't it? CC has a "Sarasota" licensed country station and a "Bradenton" one too.

Just like they have one in "Port Charlotte" and one in "Charlotte Harbor"

And they are all 100kw except for CTQ.

Heck, WLLD 98.7 is licensed to Holmes Beach! Studio in St. Pete, transmitter in Seminole.

Not with Q105 as a sister station.

I know I'm going to get flamed but here is my opinion. If I was an advertiser on CTQ, I would be angry with CC because they have so much competition from other CC stations. If those other stations had other formats, then CTQ would have higher ratings. You cant help competition from other radio companies, but your own company? Come on??

Smart money is on 92.5 staying country, offering an in-house alternative to WQYK and muddying the water for 103.5.

If they can keep 103.5 from getting any traction, that's a win for WQYK.

Exactly the plan for 92.5 since day one. Protect the mother ship. Keep anyone else from going country. It didn't work. Someone went country and is taking on the mother ship head on.

Bet 1010 wishes Stern's contract expired a lot sooner.

I see Progressive Talk in their future......
