Anybody have an idea as to why The Wolf is showing signs of fading into oblivion? KSCS hasn't done anything special, I think it's more of The Wolf tinkering with something that wasn't broken.

Someone with the breakouts willing to prove/disprove this theory - I believe switching Amy B and Cody was a suicidal move. Amy B's shtick is annoying as hell in drive time when you're trying to fight through rush hour traffic. What are their numbers like since the switch?

Also does anyone think the addition of Fitz is pushing their 25-54 demo to KSCS?
I have a hard time believing anyone over 25 finds him remotely relatable.

Jack has hit a plateau. Count on Kurt to screw with the music so much the station goes into a tailspin.

With 2 hispanic stations trending in the Top 5 you can rely on more bottom feeders err bottom-line feeders clamoring into that market.

Kurt is smart enough to keep the music fresh. But what's up with the processing? no separation, no bass response, compressed to the point of fatigue. How is it KLUV and Jack sound so dissimilar?

Don't forget. The Edge is out of the top 10.

It's not too hard to figure out why the Wolf is weakening..John Cook. He successfully has engineered many stations togo down a drain( KTFM in SA among them). Why he was hired is a statement that those who hire Om's ,and Pd's never understood broadcasting themselves. So John hires Fitz since they have worked together before. Fitz's "Humans rule ,Dolphins suck" shows his lack of talent, and he is best suited for Midland-Odessa Not DFW.

Kurt Johnson? Programe Directors and Pd's to be study his reasoning and methods and do the opposite. That is why they are much more successful.

I'll bet the Dorsey Gang has more to do with the rise of KSCS than Amy B does with the Wolf's slip. Also, the Wolf used to be more progressive with introducing new cuts than they are now. Fitz must be responsible for some issues as well. I just can't see how they figured that he's a good fit for the Wolf.

"Human's Rule, Dolphin's suck???" That shows a "lack of talent?" Maybe a lack of tact...but not talent...

You know...It's really funny how you think a part timer has THAT much influence on a radio station. Fitz has nothing to do with the ratings going down. I think it's funny how so many of you talk bad about Fitz but quote things in his career which means you have been following it for quite some time. Besides, You are all smart enough to know that arbitron is atleast 6 months behind. Stop looking for reasons to bash people...If anything, the problem is the inconsistency on the Wolf. Plus let's all remember what the Wolf was supposed to be from it's inception. A Country station that in all other ways but music, was a CHR by nature. A FUN country station...one that made country music COOL...Not a drag. It was during this time that the Wolf was the powerhouse that you all remember. For the past few years, it has been a regular old country station, and that has been it's downfall.

One can not help but follow FITz when he has promoted himself extensively in many discussion groups under different names and the syntax is the same. FITz is liked By PD John Cook based on their previous experience working together, amnd both have caused ratings to drop when together and separate at stations, His quotes BTW were done by him in discussion groups, again one can't help but notice, just get ill reading the self gratification.

The Wolf has peaked. That we agree. Country music is pop in disguisem just with a different twang. John Cook is once again firing torpedoes but its at the Wolf not other stations.

Really? where has Fitz caused ratings to go down?? If you really look at his ratings in any day part then you would know that he has boosted ratings at every station he has been at. That includes KJ103, KHKS, and KRBV. As far as Wild itself tanking, you can't blame a sinking radio station on one single guy. He still beat Kraddick. The station was doomed a long time before Fitz ever got there.

Quit saying, "you know".

You know?

It still sounds like a top-40 approach to country music.

Nothing wrong with that. Country stations have done that since the '70s.

But maybe people want something different now than a liner station.

He beat Kraddick?

What demo?

Girls 12 and under?

And what happened in Wichita Falls?

Me thinks uneednotknow = Bethany Parks. Please come to your own conclusion now. Personally, I'm humming a certain Fantasia song at the moment:)

Most of us already know about Wichita Falls :).

Hey, all of us stumble and fall sometime, and we pick ourselves up ... and get up.

Enjoy Fantasia ... or humming it.

Oh, the movie? Or Fantasia Barrino?

> He still beat Kraddick.

The only time Fitz ever beat Kraddick was in a "Who's Taller?" contest...

Or the "Who has the worst frosted tips hairdo?" contest...

Or the "Who thinks he's funny and is severly mistaken?" contest...

Keep in mind, Kraddick comes in a very close second in all of these...

;)

Despite Wolf's down rating trend they are still a very good sounding station. Agreed Amy B act is getting real old and Cody is no talent. Fitz doesn't fit. Bobby is good, Chris summers sounds phony. Hollywood needs to be in afternoon.

KSCS is awful. Phony irritating sounding promos, worse yet, not very well produced. The night dude is just awful. Sounds like Waco talent. The midday chick has nothing to say. Kinder is ok. Dorsey has name reconition, that along with big promtions is what saved KSCS this time.

The Wolf better get back to BIG PROMOTIONS.

FYI, Edward:

Arbitron research shows the Wolf has much more 50K plus income demos than KSCS.

KSCS IS the good 'ol boy station. Grant you they have gotten better but they still have the White Trash audience.

Define "White Trash", Traffic Dude.

Why do you put that in caps?
