My question for you radioalogo is how much longer do you think K ROCK will exist without Stern. I don't ever remember when LTJ and BOB did better than Star and K ROCK in the ratings.

Since I work in sales (not radio sales) my answer is as follows

Ask the sales manager of K-Rock that question, if they are smart they would go sell the hell out of K-Rock right now before the spring book hits lock in a good price per spot and then have the PD re-chisel K-Rock that would give them a good year of testing the waters of the format/jocks which the music will not change as for the jocks thats up to the PD, will B94 come back No, will they go Jack, No. unless corporate intervention takes control I see K-Rock finding a local "shock jock" thats is only if K-Rock can take control of the mornings, if not then they will sit and wait for DLR to quit because he has such a tight contract CBS can't release him unless they pay him millions of dollars, which I would do if I was CBS, can you imagine the millions of listeners and dollars per month corporate CBS is losing in a 4 hour period because of Stern.

another variable to consider Stern had as many haters of is show as those who liked it and those people "in Pittsburgh" might just give K-Rock a try, but you need to give them something to listen too which for right now is all a political
struggle between local K-Rock and CBS I'm sure

To leave this on a corny saying, it’s going to be rocky road for K-Rock for sometime ahead. But let's see how good the PD really is, now that it’s up to the other local K-Rock jocks to support the station. Correct me if I am wrong but is all of Pittsburgh morning radio local? No syndication? If that’s the case then I definitely see Mancow or someone else stepping in

Well that was a good read But one thing for sure 937krock won't go anywhere so i say change formats to play or play a mix of hard rock and classic rock 50/50 i say have a new song then an old song then go to the new again and so on i think it would work like that.

LOL @ K-Rock's numbers! Yes, this is lower than WBZZ at their very lowest. I think it's time to bring back the B.

I'm sad to see Star decline, but their playlist is so stale. :( They play the same songs over and over, day in and day out. I only tune in to hear the morning show and that's basically it.

Bring on a CHR to one of these stations! PLEASE!

I know we are not allowed to post actual numbers on this board but you are allowed to say for example, ESPN Radio did better than K ROCK this ratings period but you cant say it jumped from # 0.1 to 0.2 for example. Hopefully that helps.

Ok i understand. So i can say bobfm in the fall of last year had a 2.8 and yesterdays ratings went up to a 3.3.<P ID="signature">______________

Arbitron ratings are covered by copyright law and cannot be re-produced without written permission from The Arbitron Company.

It's not that hard to get your idea across- you just have to be careful not to quote actual numbers (for insance, in your post you could say they went from upper 2s and gained 3/4 of a point. Silly, yes, but dem is da rules we and R-I have to abide by).
