Ratings

Nice to see that the 2 sports stations in town got a 1.7 combined! Even poor old GST got a 1.8.Rodney the Ho will probably have a full page feature on the "success" of the sports stations within a few days. Good Night, and Good Luck.

How did Denny Shaffer do compared with Glenn Beck? I know Boortz clobbered him, but if the ratings go in the upward direction compared to Beck, isn't that a bit of good news? How about the Kimmer? Did losing Jim Gossett and Pete Davis hurt his ratings?I'm with others on this board. I can't for the life of me figure out 97.1 The River. They are an exact carbon copy of CC's defunct Mix 105.7, so how do you explain the ratings, when Mix couldn't survive? Strange.I think we may see a bump for 96rock in the Spring book. With the Braves on again, and Jennifer Reed slated to start today, it should help.

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations, David Dickey, on getting another .7At least you "saved money"!!!! ;D

Are those 12-plus or their target audience of male 25-54?

12 plus, which has always been weak for both sports stations. It appeared that WQXI had some growth momentum a few books back, but the move in the fall of pushing the Two Live Stews out of mid day and into afternoons seems to have not only stopped the momentum but caused a bit of a regression. As for WCNN, they were crowing after pulling ahead of WQXI in the the Fall Book. They were convinced the Buck and John were taking advantage of white guy turnoff to the Stews and that they would be back in front for good. Turns out they still suck. These stations may make some money, but the evidence is overwhelming that the sports format is an audience loser in Atlanta.

Thanks. I would be curious what they do male 25-54, as that is their target audience, not 12-plus numbers which is never a stronghold for sports stations. Is the audience a loser or are they loser stations? There is a difference.

The "target" numbers 25-54 may actually grow to a 1.5! Wow! the only losers are the sales people trying to explain to clients how this "works for them". The listeners decide who are the winners and losers. It has always been that way. Maybe the real losers are the listeners who think these blowhards actually have some juice in town by getting free meals from a hack at the Palm who gives them free drinks to get airtime.

WGST has the opposite problem, their 25-54 target numbers are even more miserable than the 12 plus ratings. Randall has made Planet Radio look like a success story!
