being an outsider and privy to inside information about radio in GSO, I can see that many posters on here are former employees of the radio business or never worked in radio at all. I know of things at CC, Entercom, Dick, and the rest. They all have their problems and their difficulties. I can see that the posters on here are cut fromt he same cloth as sports fans. The winning team, driver, golfer, etc. become the object of nitpicking and trying to tear them down. For once, be happy that we have such healthy competion in a market like this. There are much bigger towns than this that have far less and worse station choices. Trust me, I know this from travelling on the road. Everyone needs to enjoy what we have, because it could be much worse. Congratulate your competitors as they make their mark on the radio scene. Stop trying to find fault with everyone the does not work for company A, B, D, N, or X. Always reme, ber it could be one company, witha couple of stations for you to choose from. I, personally, am glad taht we are located to receive the multitude of stations we can enjoy.

Friends of the broadcast, I think it's time to accept that there is no such thing as a "greener pasture" in this environment.. Not trying to be downer but when you consider where radio was, is and where it's going, it's a wonder were not all wearing smock's greeting people asking "is that a return?". As far as the Entercom seller "selling" everyone on the greatness of E-com, let me just say radio looks alot different thru the windshield of a new Mercedes or BMW than a 7 year old Honda. (By the way please don't reply with the intention of impressing us or countering with the make and model of your modest sadan, the point still stands). Rest assured every radio group has big billers and who better to defend their company and sing their praises! Ask the rep who's been there 6 months to a year and I'd bet their take on things was somewhat different..

Seems to me like if you've got a decent gig these days there's no reason to go looking over fences. You'd just be trading your current set of problems and complaints for a new set with a new company. Oh and by the way, based on yesterdays ratings, (and I'm going from memory here) the bragging rights between number 2 and number 12 was about a point or point and a half so sit back and savor this extra large cup of reality... Free of charge. ;)

Very well stated Round Mound. I too noticed that there is a small margin of difference between the top stations and the 12, 13, 14th stations. And, you're quite right about the greener grass. If you're somewhere where you're treated with dignity and you feel like you're contributing, then you've probably got a pretty good gig. But, some folks threshold for pain is higher than others. Or, sometimes it's just a matter of perspective as you so aptly stated with the car analogy.
