Huh? They got ratings in the Summer '07 book (0.5).

To answer your question, a few theories:
1) The Lakers are enjoying their best season in 4 years
*2) They now carry the Galaxy games in English!!
3) Joe McDonnell has retained his fans
4) Dan Patrick joined the station and is on before Jim Rome
5) lots of listeners abandoned KSPN and went to KLAC
Why the exodus from KSPN? Well the Angels are gone from the line up; The Clippers games were part of the line up; They shitcanned half their staff: Dan Patrick left and was replaced by ..... ??? John Ireland is gone so no Mason & Ireland "The Big Show"; a rotation of unimpressive hosts in the mid day; PM driver Dameshek totally sucks; no one listens to the night guy

* - just kidding ;D

Spring 2007 0.8 12+, summer 0.5, Fall 0.6 and Winter 1.2

Low rated stations are very volitile, with a 0.7 and a 1.2 being essentially the same number within the margin of error. Also, as SRF mentioned, the Lakers pbp was on in Winter throughout.

You may not be aware, but the online trades do not list every station. Some cut off at 1.0, even if the station made the book.

Just curious, has Jill FM ever showed up in any ratings? I don't think I've ever seen them.

Never made the LA book or any LA trend. I don't think they made it prior to JILL-FM either. They have made the Ventura market and even get #s in Victorville FWIW. You know I always thought 92.7 should have gone AAA a long time ago and mayyyyybe gotten some ratings in LA/OC market. That hole has now been filled, meanwhile JILL-FM still sounds like KYSR meets KOST.

AAA getting numbers in LA? Why start now?

This is the likely answer...there hasn't been this much buzz about the Lakers in this city since Shaq left.
