Most importantly is to sell "The Story". You have to have enthusiasim to sell your product.

Radio One did so many horrible things with that radio station. Personally, they should have beat Cumulus to the punch and flipped it to Sports/Talk, but it seems to be that they will remain rock of some sort.

So how are you going to spin your false post about them making 2-3 million per year?

When bluechip put wlrs back on the air at 105.1 and for a few years they seem to care about the station but a few years ago lrs just seemed to lose there way and radio one now mainline does not seem to care what happens to wlrs. Case in point by flipping the format to something not needed in this city. Just listen to them. Now with that said they have improved a bit but if you listen to the whole product mainline doesn't seem to care about the red headed stepchild. Wonder why???

I disagree. I think a new and classic rocker is something that has been needed for years. QMF and SFR are just so boring with the same songs every day. At least with a format like new and classic, the song rotation has to change quite a bit.

Oh, yes, that's what the market needs- a third classic rock station. Great strategy call. <NOT>

There are few radio markets in the U.S. that have TWO classic rockers, much less three. The two in L'ville combine for big shares but that doesn't mean there's even more to siphon off to support a third one. And, the truth is that there are only so many viable classic rock songs most classic rock LISTENERS would want to hear on a regular basis. At least WQMF seems to have somewhat expanded their playlist the past year or so (while WSFR literally plays the same old-same old year after year after year and whines about WQMF incessantly).

I don't think you can really categorize LRS as a classic rocker. I heard them playing the new Finger 11 and Seether back to back today. Of course the next song was Working Man from Rush, but...

They're kind of like what the Fox was when it came on back in 93. Our tag line was killer classics and today's best new rock.

Exactly. That's why I like this new LRS a lot. It reminds me of the good old days of the Fox.

Now if they can hire some talent it won't be a bad station to listen to. Right now i can't listen to the god awful non talent they are really bad.

I'm not crazy about Big Joe either. They need to hire Troy Roebuck, Future Bob and Cravin Morehead.

When mainline does fire joe it won't be soon enough. I have never heard someone so unfit to be on the radio.

!!!Hire troy and pair him with someone else for a good morning show.I liked rocky and troy.I doubt craven will leave the fox but ya never know.

geez I don't know. the first two are stiff liner-card jockeys. old, tired (sounding) and robots for Cox. z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z

I've already worked at WLRS once in my life and it was at 102.3 then. Also, it's c-r-a-v-E-n. Just sayin' :)

Sorry for the misspelling, Craven. I had forgotten about you working for 102.3 WLRS.
