Ratings

I would like to point out 2 notable showings that caught my attention in the latest ratings.

The first of these is a huge increase for KOPW Omaha. This station signed on as a youth-focused urban though I haven't heard it for a few years. Omaha had been without an urban for many years before its sign-on about 5 years ago. It shot up to number 2 in the market in the latest ratings. I wonder what accounts for this huge increase in 1 book. They are running Big Boy in the mornings now.

The second of these is an impressive showing by WJQM in my family's hometown of Madison, WI, which is more of a Churban, also with Big Boy in the morning. The station scored its highest ratings in its 1 1/2 years of existence. It was 11th in the market but it is just a peashooter. The signal is actually centered in a rural area about 25-30 miles from Madison. So given the signal its ratings are a major achievement. In my view, its owner, Midwest Family should stick it on the signal of Classic Hits WHLK and see what it can do on a full market signal.
