KEZE was Urban(never really caught on with folks older than 17-24 tops), then switched to all-Christmas the same time that KISC-FM did....kind of a Christmas battle...they got a nice bump thanks to the Holiday music, then switched to Country and went down, now they have rebounded...it's a definite 3-way race with KDRK/93.7 KIXZ/96.1 KEZE/96.9 and even the Coeur d'Alene 102.3 more of a classic country station...so call it a 4-way battle for the country audience....the big change for them is Jay & Kevin going from KDRK to KEZE. They do have a nice billboard campaign and Jay & Kevin are popular. Certantly couldn't hurt the station making a change like that......No where to go but up!
It's funny the station that doesn't even show is 95.3/KPND, they jacked their power up to 100,000 watts and has a decent signal over Spokane, but they call themselves "progressive" radio and I'm a music lover and I rarely recognize anything they play. Once in awhile I will hear a familiar song....gee Wally, do you suppose if you play really unfamiliar music as a radio station they'll see us as a 'creep?' Wait 'til dad gets home......almost a waste of a signal.....their idea is good, but in listening to them, their stereo pilot is on, but the music is in MONO.....YIKES!!!
