Both of those points are true, but there is only a minimal amount of correlation.
When it comes to today's radio, everybody here wants to change it. No sweat off their brow, they don't have to worry about sales or other financial impact format changes bring along.
However, when it's the radio stations themselves that bring along change, the panties of some posters here go into an irreversible knot. Programming changes on this board are strokes of genius, whereas if Clear Channel, CBS, Entercom or Fisher does it, it's all about greed.
Few like change, that's only human nature. It's how people accept and/or deal with change that separates who succeeds and who doesn't succeed in this business.
