Kitty Kinnin... the only live person actually sitting in front of a mic on Sunday mornings. Except maybe whoever is running WPTF.

Of course not, but radio is generally pretty pathetic in that timeslot. Kudos to Kitty for what she does and actually being in the studio to do it.

I'm sure someone is minding the store at Curtis but I can't imagine there's much out there not in automation at 8 on a Sunday morning.

legally someone has to be at the helm of the station(s). A "Prophet Op" as we use to call them or a "bored sitter".

WKIX-AM cancelled the live computer help show at 8:00 on Sunday morning. I don't know what they're going to put on its place, but 8:00 Sunday is and always was dead time. Maybe they'll add another hour of Pat Patterson. I used to tune in to listen. No reason to tune in now.

Chuck, I guess that might be me as a few of us "Old Guys" that hed First Class Radio-Telephone licenses and the changed to Lifetime General Class and then ya had to get SBE

hmm that's strange BA, as the 2 - FM company I used to work at in Greensboro was abandoned after 7-8 at night. We even automated the weather alerts because of that. Has it changed over the past few years? A friend at CC Gso told me their studios were ghost-like after a certain time in the evening as they were fully automated on all their stations after evening drive. Curiouser and curiouser......

Hello everyone I have lurked this site for a bit. I used to be in radio NY but thatw as yeara ago I am actually a freind of the guy that does the Hangover Cafe on Sunday mornings on 96 Rock..its always live...i know I bug him every weekend morning...

EAS and programming goes goes mostly automated at CC after 6p, just like most stations in the market.

I'm curious about that requirement to have a live body on-site. At Curtis Media several years ago, they did this. However, at Davidson Media's two stations in Durham (WRJD and WTIK) they don't--it's all automated overnight and-depending on the station (they operate in the same building but separate operators, management, etc.)--much earlier than that.

You don't need a control operator if the EAS is automated. Saves money but it can bite you in the but when the equipment malfunctions!

And speaking of The River, I've been hearing more and more of Chris Shebel there. Is he still on Kiss, or did he move over to The River? If he did, who replaced him at Kiss?

I thought the LP-1 and LP-2 stations had to have live bodies in the building? 105.1 is the LP-2 for Raleigh/Durham and 100.7 is the LP-1 for Rocky Mount/Wilson.
