For the life of me I don't understand why CC didn't go rhythmic with 107.3. Even BLX has a EDM mix show every night at 11 now. Why couldn't 107.3 have done that?  I guess they decided well these are a bunch of small town folk. We'll just put on our cheap premium choice programming and they will eat it up. WRONG! At this point I don't care what they will do with that signal.

When 107.3 first went CHR it was rhythmic. Musically, it was hot. But they only gave it a couple months before the music shifting began. Cumulus gave up on i100, so 107.3 decided it was better to be closer towards WABB. FF a few months, CC goes on an aggressive advertising blitz after the end of WABB was announced with the product pretty much untouched or fine tuned. Then Cumulus came back with WABD, was able to land the local CHR personalities, and that was all she wrote. There's been too many moving parts when they were trying to get their footing, knee jerk reactions, and bad and/or uninformed decision making that all led to this at CC.

CC should flip 107.3 to Hip Hop and try chipping away at BLX. BLX's vulnerability was exposed a decade ago by the short lived K104. As long as CC can't put WNTM with Rush and the gang on a Pensacola signal what better option is there for a shock and awe attention grabber with the inferior signal of the cluster?

It's an inferior signal if you consider both Mobile and Pensacola markets, but really doesn't the 50 kW do just fine in Pensacola? Even the HD works reasonably well there. Certainly better than here in Baldwin County. They could try to be the urban station just for Pensacola instead of trying to hone in on BLX's stranglehold in Mobile and probably make some inroads as the 'local' choice.

Pensacola has always surprised me for being such a rock-centric market but I bet there's an urban undercurrent that could be tapped into.

107.3 most certainly has an inferior signal in Pensacola. It's kinda hard to believe that it has a city grade dbu over 32501. I wonder if the antenna could possibly be set up to be directional toward Mobile.
I know it works out on paper, but that signal would really be better off moving back to the Cantonment tower if the Baldwin county stick isn't helping with Mobile coverage. It's my understanding that 107.3 was only moved into Alabama to consolidate facilities with other Clear Channel properties. I assumed from the time it was moved that 107.3 would go mono and pick up a spoken word format. I still believe that talk or sports is in the long term plans for 107.3.
