RATM on MMR last night

I thought they were permanently banned from MMR due to their political views and supporting Mummia. Audioslave was also banned, was the ban lifted after Weston and the higher ups who banned them in the past are gone now.

Were they ever OFFICIALLY banned? I know that there's an audience that isn't happy because of the Mumia-positive views they have. Never heard of WMMR banning Audioslave as well.
 
In 2004 when Bill Weston took the helm, he said MMR would not play anything by RATM or Audioslace due to Morello being in the band. The widow of the slain officer in an interview thanked him, not a big listener to MMR I don''t know how long this lasted, but last night on Bam Bams show I heard them being played.
