RAVENS-PATRIOTS ON WCBS-880

WCBS-880 will broadcast the Ravens-Patriots AFC Championship Game in its entirety starting with the pre-game show at 2 PM. WFAN will simulcast until 5:10 PM when Giants-49ers coverage begins.

WFAN is promoting the Ravens-Patriots broadcast as "airing in its entirety on our sister station WCBS Newsradio 880." If WFAN had an FM simulcast, there would be no need for WCBS to stop its news coverage. :)

I don't see the big deal. WCBS stops news coverage at least 162 times a year for the yankees. People act like this is the 4th sign of the apocalypse.

And since their sister station, WINS, is still airing the news, no one cares.

Also, the national feed of Giants/49ers aired on WCBS immediately after Ravens/Patriots. And with the Giants advancing to the Super Bowl, I imagine there will be a similar setup on WFAN (local Giants broadcast) and WCBS (Dial Global feed) on February 5.
