Zwerling sounds like an idiot and a mama's boy ... and his mom, give her credit at 90 years old, barges in to the studio and confronts her son and Ray T. on the air and the rest is explosive!

Ray goes off on the station's owner right in the same room and sonny boy just sits there!

This is historic. The people in Santa Cruz must be going street rat crazy hearing this!

I'm sorry for the double post - but gotta tell you. I'm betting Mrs. Zwerling ... the owner of KSCO ... "Why don't you leave the studio?" "Because I OWN it!" -- took sonny boy Michael out back after Ray left and spanked the crap out of her son.

Never have I heard radio like this ... and I've done this for 40 years.

Please listen to this before they take it down. Or that mama tears the computer apart trying to get rid of it ...
 
If only we could get Christine on 7-10 p on weekends. A great balance with Thurston in the AM on Sat and Sun and intelligent, often funny and creative "in your face" radio on KGO. Sorry Karel ... but that band has already played. It's the worst daypart in radio ... but Christine would more than handle it well. Great observation, perception, insight, clarity and a great voice. And when she's on her wit, she is drop dead funny. And no "Great Breakup songs because my boyfriend left me .."
 
The Zwerlings are very, very strange people. They have a knack for attracting some very weird publicity. Not to mention actively seeking that kind of publicity.

I was amused at the big screaming "Nasty Liberal" headline used to describe Ray T. on their website.
 
It's an act, Ray even said that one of the "hosts" of a call-in talk show (I didn't catch his name) from KSCO was listening and "got it" and further more went on to say "I've been doing this for 41 years I know what I am doing" this is Ray at his best! don't take him so seriously.
 
I worked at KSCO in 1988 along with its sister FM in basement, KLRS and it was an auntomated MOR station then. I guess things have changed drastically! LOL. I wish I was still there to see this happen "live in the studio!"
 
That was a great show and it was the first time I heard Ray since the firing. It was priceless to hear the guy say, "Mom, behave yourself!" I don't know the wisdom of having your mother on air with you but it was priceless. Ray did go a bit overboard with yelling and calling her "Madam". I guess Ray had all that waiting to get out for days on end! So I forgive him.

I love Ray Taliaferro.

It's funny when Michael Savage attacks, he's just a conservative sincerely expressing his opinion. But when Ray Taliaferro does the same thing, he's a "nasty super-liberal"

I already see which side this piece of toast is buttered on........

I heard some of the interview with Ray, Gene, and John. I heard about it in another forum. I was looking forward to it. I went there only to hear the fired KGO hosts. I was very happy to hear Ray. However, Karel is so irritating (to me) that I had to shut it off before it was over. It was a real bummer that Karel kept interrupting Ray. Karel played too much music considering that he had 3 very interesting guests that I really wanted to hear. I thought he was a real doofus to do that. Considering the interest in the fired hosts, I feel that he shouldn't have wasted time with the music. During the music he said "I'm not in a hurry". Well, I was. In a hurry for him to be quiet. In hurry for him to cut the music.
 
You nailed it! It was a trainwreck. At least Gene had the sense to call it qjits (with class and graciousness) after an hour.

Karel made no points.

Only 3 phone calls.

He was rude to Ray & John ... cutting them both off and talking over them. It was all about "I AM Karel" and too much talk about himself and too much music and talk about it as well.

Jim Gabbert may just have said it best on KSCO last Saturday, "Karel ... is stupid ... but entertaining."

Just not THAT entertaining.

During a post-show talk to his web viewers ... he announced "I'd like to syndicate Len Tillem and Christine Craft." Well, at least Len's safely out of the way now. I only hope the same for Christine.
