Raycom buying radio stations

Raycom has been in the TV business for many years. They own stations all over the nation. They also own golf courses, syndicated TV sports, and part of the Alabama state government.

They are dabbling in a new business: radio stations. Raycom is going to purchase two stations to start. They will purchase one in Myrtle Beach and one in Charleston.

Raycom is purchasing Eagle 92.9 and 1390 AM/99.3 in Charleston.

Eagle 92.9 will change its call letters to WMBF. WMBF-FM will be a news/talk station. All of WMBF's news personalities will have a share in the station, with main anchor Paula Caruso hosting a show each afternoon. All of WMBF's newscasts will air on the station. The station will air talk and sports programs when not airing newscasts. On weekends, you will have country.

Raycom is buying the low-rated WSPO, the fourth sports station, and 93.7 FM in Walterboro, WALI. They will go back to the original call letters of WCSC. All of WCSC's air personalities will be on. Bill Sharpe and Debi Chard, both news anchors at the old WCSC will be on, and Rocky D will do a live show every day. They will have sports on weekends, and a local morning show.

April Fools!!!!!!!! ;D

Knew that was an April Fool's joke. Who would believe RAYCOM spending money?

Happy April Fool's and more seriously, for those who observe it, Passion Sunday.

They will start a Raycom news network for radio in SC. Starting here, then they will buy 1230 in Columbia, an FM in Augusta, and a couple others.

April Fools.
