RCA-Camden, NJ Plant

I'll be in the Philadelphia area in November, and I was wondering...is there anything left of the massive RCA plant in Camden, NJ where the vast majority of the company's professional broadcast equipment (Radio and TV) was produced?

Everything from TV cameras to AM transmitters came out of this famous operation from the early 1930s until the brand, patents and production facilities were either sold or shut down by the 1990's. This was the home of the famous BC- and DX- series ribbon mikes used in radio since the late 1920's.

Also every radio, hi-fi, television and B&W and Color TV camera they ever made in the halcyon days of American Manufacturing Might. http://www.oldradio.com/archives/hardware/TV/RCA-TV.htm

There is a thread elsewhere here that went into a deep historic discussion with links and pics. Including the Philco plant. It's worth your time to find it.

Currently, what's left of the building has been turned into luxury condos. And yes, they removed the block letter RCA logo of the late '60's and 70's, uncovered, restored and relit Nipper. There is a beautiful Ballpark, Campbell Field, right nect to the Ben Franklin Bridge, home of the Canden RiverSharks. The waterfront has gone through quite a rebuild.

The RCA Tube/Transmitter plant on Rt 42 is now converted into a shopping area, anchored by, most appropriately, Circuit City.
