RDS Encoder Hook Up Question

Hello and thanks for reading my post. My current RDS hookup method is "side chained" on my audio processor. There's a couple ways of doing
this:

1) Composite 2 out from the Processor to the IN of the RDS Encoder. Then the OUTPUT of the RDS Encoder to the SCA IN on the Processor

OR

2) 19Khz out from the Processor to the IN of the RDS Encoder. Then the OUTPUT of the RDS Encoder to the SCA IN on the Processor

Composite 1 out from the Processor goes to the baseband MPX input of the Transmitter.

Both 1 & 2 work. But I was wondering, are both ways acceptable, or is one the preferred way.

Thanks in advance for your expert guidance!

RDS Hookup Question

Method #2. RDS unit only needs the 19khz in to sync with the processor.

That's what I thought ... it made the most sense. I'm using Method #1 now and something didn't sound right
audio wise. I'm gonna make a trip to the Hill and fix it. I appreciate your help! Happy 4th!!!
