RDS in Dayton

OK...is it just me or does anyone else notice a few discrepencies on RDS readouts on Dayton stations? For example, 95.3 "The new Eagle" still shows as "95-3 ZLR" on RDS - is it easy to change the wording on this (sorry not familiar with how this RDS system works). I could see if the station just flipped, but it has been the Eagle for months now. It also looks like the RDS is working for 92.1 and 102.9 but just displays the frequency and no slogan or words. Just curious.

Depends on the location of the RDS unit and how it can be programmed. Not all units can do "dynamic" PS that updates with title information either.

In the case of 95.3, Cox Dayton has been looking for a new engineer. If it's a "static" RDS unit and is located at the transmitter site, perhaps no one's had the time to drive out there and change the message.

I have RDS in my car but haven't really noticed who is using it and who is not since most of the time I'm using my Sirius tuner.

The RDS is static at 95.3. So is the one at 99.1 That stellar hire that replaced The Legend probably never saw it in the rack...let alone knew how to change it.

If it doesn't generate $3 in revenue at 1414, it isn't important. No doubt the occupants of that building even know it is there.

Do we really need RDS? After all those years we had no trouble reading the AM dial when it still read " 5(5), 6, 7, 8,9, 12, 14 and 16" (x10) DON'T be ridiculous Chumley! (duh me Tennessee!)
