RDS on 91X & Z90.3

fun *NEW* topic...

Since LMA moved XETRA and XHITZ from Granite Ridge to Sorrento Valley, the RDS on 91X has been absent. The RDS on Z90.3 has been alien language scrolling (a1b2c34d5e6f... notice a pattern?) The Z90 thing is funny, but also losing luster. I'm sure (at least part of) the RDS was part of the CC engineering deal that has ceased. Still though, does anyone familiar know if LMA plans on either getting the scrolling back up and running (both stations' names still display correctly), or at least removing the alphabet/numeric combo that has been scrolling with Z90 for the past several weeks? (I know I may be overlooking XHRM, but I rarely tune in... so I don't know what's happening on 92.5.)

92.5 still says "Thanks for Listening to Magic 92.5" it would be nice if they had the song and name title instead of the Thanks for Listening and "Z90.3"

I'm pretty sure CC Engineering had nothing to do with the RDS delivery of the stations, but was part of FCB decisions and their Mexican counterparts.

The signals were being uplinked by satellite when they were on Granite Ridge which also carried the RDS data from the playback servers. Not sure how they are getting the audio delivered now which may not be carrying the data any longer.

for about the last six months at Granite Ridge the signals were not being delivered by satellite. There was fiber all the way to the tower sites in Mexico...

RDS has returned to 91X & Z90.3

RDS song title/artist scrolling as returned to the former FCB stations... well Z90.3 & Magic 92.5. Perhaps 91X will be be back up soon as well...

Just curious, does anyone know what Clear Channel is doing with all that extra space that FCB once occupied? I mean, by their 2nd round of layoffs, they couldn't even fill their side of the building.
